Introducing Myself
My name is Brooke Moran. I am a mother, a writer, a serial entrepreneur, a veteran, and someone who hates to sugarcoat things. I have been in the world of marketing and web design for over twelve years. I am not someone who will tell you that everyone can run a business or that there is a secret, magical marketing plan that will make everyone go viral.
Because that would be lying and I do not lie.
I may make you pause, question your direction but I won’t ever advise you to do anything that goes against your best interest. The secret to getting anywhere is not joining a pyramid scheme or pushing yourself into burnout.
The secret is going after what you are passionate about.
Because the one thing that I cannot teach you is passion.
The Truth About Marketing No One is Telling You
Marketing is constantly changing. There is nothing that will work this month of this year that will work in the same way a year from now. Your audience is out there, but only if you are truly willing to show them who you actually are. People are quickly getting over the idealized version of people that are online. They are moving past the want for perfect influencers with perfect lives. They want someone that they can relate to. They want someone who feels honest.
I promise that the fastest way to burnout is to try to curate any version of you that you are not naturally every day of your life.
How to Create Your Own Marketing Strategy
This is something that I am going to talk about whether it’s on YouTube, on the Podcast and on here in the blog, how do you create a marketing strategy? A marketing strategy is essentially a conversation between you and your audience or your customer. Knowing your customer or ideal audience is the most important first step. This is why I have clients create customer and audience avatar sheets. When you have a clear idea of who you are speaking to, the conversation is more natural and it will help you find the right audience. 100,000 followers means nothing if you have no engagement. It is better to have clear engaged followers than to just focus on the number alone.
How to Avoid Burnout
Burnout happens when you don’t have a clear plan or passion for what you are trying to do. When you don’t understand how to break down content so that you don’t overload yourself, you burnout. Everyone burns out at one point or another; you cannot go 100 miles per hour all the time and expect to be ok. I used to do that for years and I promise that there is a better way. There is a balance to be found and not lose your hustle in the process.
Why do I consider myself a coach?
I will be honest. I am not the coach for everyone. I am not someone who is going to hold your hand and tell you that everything is going to be ok. I do not think that I do anyone any favors by sugarcoating advice. I want to be honest. I want to tell you what is going to work and what is not. If you want real change in your business, then that is the advice that you need.
